Venus Scheduling: How do I schedule content in Venus Control Suite?

To create a playlist, you will need to identify the media to play, the display or displays and configure any properties of the playlist.

Steps
- Log into Venus Control Suite Venus Accounts: How do I log in to Venus Control Suite?
- Select Scheduling from the My Apps menu.

Create a new playlist
- From the Playlist Page, click Add New to create a new playlist.
- Pick the appropriate type of playlist from the dropdown.

Locate an existing playlist
- Click on Playlists in the Main Menu.
- Click on the playlist to be edited. If the playlist is difficult to locate, use the filter tools to locate the playlist by date, account, display, media, etc. Click on the red x icon to clear out the filters.
Filters: Utilize one or a combination of filter tools to locate a specific playlist.
- Sort Order - Organize by modified date or in alphabetical order.
- Account - Locate existing playlists associated with a specific account.
- Display: Locate existing playlists associated with a specific display or indicate if there are no displays.
- Zone - When your display features various layouts, narrowing the search by zone can be beneficial.
- Media- locate existing playlists associated with a specific media file. Venus Scheduling: How do I find playlists that have the same media files?
- Attribute buttons- Sort by any of the following: Active, Inactive, Expired, Conditions, Look Change, Exclusive. These buttons are depended on the playlists.
To clear the filters, click on the red X icon.
Assign displays to the playlist
- Click + next to Displays to select the displays the new playlist will appear on.
- A right side-out should appear that lists your account's displays.
- Select the displays. A check mark identifies which display(s) you have selected and generates a list under the Displays tile.
- Click on the X in the top right corner to close the slide-out.
For large groups of displays, it will be helpful to filter by dimensions or tags.
Playlist properties
Click on the Playlist information tile and the Playlist Properties will slide-out from the right side.
In the Playlist Properties, you can modify the playlist's name, dates, ranges, and modes.
- Add a descriptive name to the playlist.
- Choose Active or Inactive as the playlist state.
- Select Exclusive or Off if this feature is not required. An exclusive playlist is one that replaces the scheduled content on any targeted display. Venus Scheduling: How do I use an exclusive playlist?
- Set the timing for the playlist.
- Choose an Initial Start Date, and if necessary, an End Date.
- Select the days of the week you want the playlist to run.
- Determine the Start Time and End Time for the playlist. To create multiple time ranges on a playlist, edit the playlist properties and add new start and end times as needed. Venus Scheduling: How do I create time ranges on a playlist or individual file
- Choose the Playlist Mode, deciding whether to play all files or just one. This is important when managing multiple active playlists.
- Add tags to the playlist by typing a title and clicking the '+' sign to confirm.
Click on the X in the top right corner to close the slide-out.
Select media / organizing media
- Click + in the top corner of the Media Files tile. The Select Media menu will slide-out from the right side.
- Locate the desired media file using the filter options. The media filter can limit results using file title, modified date, account name, association, file type, dimension, and associated tags.
- Select the desired media file(s) from the list within the Select Media menu by clicking +. The Media files list will populate with the selected media files.
- Remove a media file from the list by clicking +, or remove all media files by clicking Remove All.
- Click on the X in the top right corner to close the slide-out.

Saving a playlist
- Select either Save or Save As from the drop-down menu.
- If you selected Save As, enter a new title for the Playlist.
Playlist display owner ad grid model
- Click on the grid icon or the applications menu in the top right corner of Venus Control Suite.
- Select Scheduling under My Apps.
- Select the blue Add New button to create a new playlist or click on an existing playlist to edit.
- Under Playlist Association, select the account the playlist will be associated with.
- At the top, click on any of the Playlist Properties to launch the Playlist Properties window.
- Enter in a playlist name under Title.
- Select a status.
Note: Active playlists will send to the selected display(s) when saved. Inactive playlists will not send to the selected display(s). - Enter in Start and End Dates.
- Select the Days of the Week (The blue dot represents the days the playlist will run).
- If you want this content to run only during a specific time frame, select Set Custom Time Range. Enter the Start and End Times.
- Apply any desired Tags.
- Select Playlist Mode.
- Click Confirm when done.
Add Display
- Click Add Displays.
- Select the display(s) that will play the content in your playlist. Click Confirm when done.
- Click Add Media Files to show the Media Library.
- Select desired media by dragging and dropping files or clicking the + button to the right of the file.
Note: To hide the Media Library, click the X in the top left corner of the Media Library shelf. - To add custom constraints on creative, follow Venus Scheduling: How do I add custom time or day constraints to a playlist file in Venus Control Suite.
- Once done, click Save.
Note: Only playlists marked as Active will send to the selected display(s).
Note: Only accounts with sales made to the selected display(s) will play on the display(s).
Playlist Considerations
- 120 items in a playlist is the maximum.
- Media items in the playlist can be rearranged by click and drag.
