How to sync time and date on the VFC's DMP board and VIP board using the webpage interface or locally at the controller

  • How do I check that the time is set correctly?
  • The message isnt showing on the sign, but the controller says it is.
  • Daylight savings changed and the peripherals are timing out or not reporting correctly.

Environment

  • VFC
    • DMP-5050
    • VIP-5050

Steps

REMOTLEY USING THE WEBPAGE INTERFACE:

  1. Establish a secure ethernet connection to the VFC controller.
  2. Log into the web configuration for the DMP board.
  3. You will be prompted for a password.
  4. Click Configuration in the left column.
  5. Click on Time on the next screen that comes up.
  6. Set the Time zone for where the controller is currently at.
  7. Sync date and time by clicking on the Sync button.
  8. last step is to click on the Save button in the upper left corner.
  9. Log into the web configuration for the VIP board.
  10. You will be prompted for a password.
  11. Click Configuration in the left column.
  12. Click on time on the next screen that come sup.
  13. Set the Time zone for where the controller is currently at.
  14. Set the current date & current time by clicking on Synchronize button.
  15. last step is to click on the Save button in the upper left corner.


LOCALLY USING THE CONTROLLER MENU SCREEN:

  1. Log into the controller.
  2. Press enter on the keypad.
  3. Select Shared.
  4. Select Time.
  5. Select Set Time.
  6. Choose your time zone.
  7. Select correct DST option.
  8. Select the right Month.
  9. Select the right Day.
  10. Select the right year.
  11. Select the right hour.
  12. Select the right Minute.
  13. Select the right Seconds.
  14. Set NTP if the customer is using this option. This is set to Disabled by default.
  15. Cancel back to the Shared Operations screen.
  16. Select Reset.
  17. Select Reboot, this will do a "soft reset" on the controller.
