Show Control System: How do I create buttons to execute Layout Editor look changes?

Topic

  • Looks or a collection of active zones can generate macros that are pulled from the Venus Layout Editor.  In Show Control's Display Studio, the user can make buttons to execute macros for looks and transitions
  • Play content on zones created in the Layout Editor

Steps

Configuring Zones: How do I add content overlays on my video in the Layout Editor?

Create a button(s) to run a macro to make a Look active. 

  1. In a Display Studio Scripting Container, Right click, select New button.
  2. Give the button an appropriate name.
  3. Add a line of script to run the macro on the DMP-8000:
    1. Select DMP-8000 Run Macro.

    1. Select the DMP used. 
    2. Select the name of the Look created from the Layout Editor.​​​​​

  1. If you have a VP-6000, add a line of script to run the macro on the VP-6000:
    1. Select VP/DI-6000
    2. Select the VP-6000 used
    3. Select Execute Trigger
    4. Select the name of the look created in the Layout Editor
  2. Optionally, add any content that needs to be played within this button according to your show. 
  3. Save the button.

Create a button to play the content.

(This script line(s) can be added to the above button depending on the desired workflow and show.)

  1. In a Display Studio Scripting Container, right click, select New button.
  2. Give the button an appropriate name.
  3. Configure the button as follows:
    1. Select DMP-8000 Player Control.
    2. Select the desired zone. 
    3. Select Play.
    4. Click Add.  Navigate to the content's location and select the desired content. Choose Open.

  1. Save the button.
