Looks > Add Zone

Create fullscreen zone to act as a background. A background zone is helpful if there are transparencies from the above layers that could show through during transitions.

  • Click on the + beside the look name and then select Add New Zone

  • With the zone highlighted, select the Properties tab to configure the options for the zone.
Properties

Properties > Identification

Give the zone a name and preview color.

  1. This example uses the name of Main Video.
  2. Select a preview color.  This just used in the user interface to help visualize the different zones. Playback will not be impacted by the colors selected.

Properties > Position

  1. The Width and Height should match the display dimensions when creating a full screen zone, otherwise, enter in your custom dimensions or arrange the box in the shape needed using the crop tools on the edges.
  2. The location should be 0px left and 0px top for this example as the top left point is the starting point for all zones. You can also choose to lock aspect ratio when resizing your zone and to snap elements together when adding more Zones and/or layers to your Looks by toggling their respective checkboxes.
  3. The remaining settings (Easing, Delay and Duration) can be left as is or adjusted as needed.  Transition will default to a cut.

  1. Return to the Looks tab and another zone for the Full Screen Video Look.
  2. While the new zone is selected, return to the Properties tab to set the ID, Position, etc.
    Processor resources

Allocate resources for the Full Screen Video zone to show live video sources.

    • Select the Full Screen Video Zone from the Looks tab, then go to the Settings tab.

Alpha and Dynamic allocation bars are showing how many of your 6 available are in use. To edit these or add more, utilize the drop down beneath the bars or select Add Resource if more options are needed for multiple zones.

The drop down will show 4 options:

    • DakAlpha - DMP-8000 content going up on the screen at the top of the Z order (graphics/videos from 8000 live on top of VP-6000 video inputs)
    • KeyFill - Sources like SDI being brought in for key fill applications.
    • Static - stationary video layers with no transitions applied.
    • Dynamic - any input showing on screen that will transition or be resized.

Once you've given the Full Screen Video zone a resource, continue adding zones and allocating resources as needed.  When your look(s) is complete, choose Save above the canvas.
