DMP: How do I organize local MediaRTD folders on the DMP?

Topic

  • This gives the best practice for organizing local Media RTD folders on the DMP. This keeps content and the MediaRTD assets segmented, and this also makes it  easier to deliver this content in a single zip file.

Environment

  • Product Family: Control System
  • Product: DMP-8000 Players
  • Components: DakStats; Show Control version 2.01+
  • Control System: DakStats, Content Studio

Steps

  • When creating VMPF content, a MediaRTD folder can be used that is local to the content.  After version 2.01,  MediaRTD assets (images and videos) do not need to be saved into the single MedaRTD folder that resides directly under the Content folder.
    • Do this to make it easier to zip up and deliver VMPF content along with the assets for that content.
    • This prevents collision with assets of the same name for other VMPF media.
  •  Assets in the global MediaRTD folder can still be referenced. This works for existing systems and  helps with large assets or sets of assets that are referenced by multiple pieces of media. Headshots or team logos might be an example of this.
  • ·The DMP will automatically search first the local and then the global MediaRTD folder to try to resolve the asset. It will use any path or extra filename info you combine with the data just as before
  • Here is an example of the folder structure that can be used:
