Display Studio Status Error, No DMP-8000 Service, Daktronics Show Control System
Potential Symptoms
- Some but not all DMP-8000s listed as No DMP-8000 Service.
- For example 20 of 23 DMP-8000s may be working successfully while only 3 are reporting No DMP-8000 Service.
- Verified IPv6 is disabled on the DMP-8000.
- Verified IPv6 is disabled on the Display Studio.
- Verified with dual NICs the Dak LAN one is prioritized and set to 1 on the DMP-8000.
- Verified with dual NICs the Dak LAN one is prioritized and set to 1 on the Display Studio.
- Verified Windows firewalls on the VNET are off.
- Verified Windows firewalls on the Display Studio are off.
- Verified Antivirus firewalls are turned off.
- Verified can access the content folder from the Display Studio machine.
- Verified the DMP name in the DMP web interface matches the name in Display Studio.
- Uninstalling VNET, deleting all the VNET folders, Reinstalling a fresh copy of VNET, then reconfiguring. Brings back Service in Display Studio, although only temporarily.

Resolution
- Backup Nucleus Server Database per How do I use the Nucleus Server Database utility to transfer or save a database?
- Rename DMP-8000 which are listed as No Service to their IP address in Display Studio Service Configuration.
- WARNING: Renaming the server in Display Studio will break Venus scripts and if the database is not backed up first, there is no way to get them back. They will have to be built from scratch.
- Display Studio will use the IP as the alias and the computer name as the name in Service Configuration.
