Display Studio Status Error red, Error Confirming Access to Disk Data, not ready indicator on Data Store
Potential Symptoms
- Receiving a red status not ready indicator on Data Store
- Receiving 'Error Confirming Access to Disk Data', however still able to connect to the display and send content to the player
- Unable to save message/presentations
- If using Venus 1500 V4, may receive "Data Access Error: An error occurred in the Microsoft .NET Framework..." alert

Cause
- The following location C:/Program Data/DAKTRONICS/Nucleus Server/Disk Data folder is not properly shared with all users
Resolution
- Show Hidden Files by going to Windows Start Menu -> click Computer or Windows Explorer
- Click Organize -> Folder and search options
- Click View Tab
- Under Advanced Settings and Hidden files and folders select Show hidden files, folders, or drives
- Click Apply and Ok
- Next, share access to Disk Data Folder by going to to Windows Start Menu -> Computer or Windows Explorer
- Go to C:/Program Data/DAKTRONICS/Nucleus Server Right-click on Disk Data folder and select Properties
- Click on the Sharing tab
- Click Advanced Sharing
- Check the Share this folder box
- Click on Permissions
- Under Group or usernames: make sure Everyone is highlighted
- Under Permissions for Everyone place a check in all three options: Full Control, Change, and Read
- Click Apply and Ok
- Click Apply and Ok
- Click Share, type Everyone, click Add
- Select Everyone in the list and under Permission Level, change it to Read/Write
- Click Share
- Click Done
- Next, ensure Network Discovery is on by going to Windows Start Menu -> click Computer or Windows Explorer
- Right click Network by from left pane and choose Properties
Note: may need to scroll downward to find Network - When Network and Sharing Center appears, choose Change advanced sharing settings from the left of the screen
- Turn on Network Discovery
