Create media RTD element

- Add the RTD field to your content in content studio.
- Check Is Media RTD checkbox under the Field Properties tab.

Link media RTD to the subfolder
- Select the Media RTD element in your content.
- Click the Multiple Fields button in the Field Properties tab.
- Verify the source for your data in the source drop down. (Every field added in this dialog needs to come from the same source.)
- Click Add Directory. Type the name of the subfolder that your content is saved in inside the "Text" box.
- Keep the "/" at the end of your text.
- Make sure that the folder names have no spaces.
- Make sure to drag the directory Text box so it sits on top of the Field box like in the picture below.
- In the Field dropdown menu, select the correct data field.
- Click Apply to save changes.
Use the data field as a subfolder name
A great example for use of this feature is when creating headshot presentations. Being able to use a data field as a subfolder allows you to create separate folders for each guest team with their headshots, making game day operation simpler!
- Follow the same steps as above, using Add Directory to include any text based subfolders. For example, for sport and media type separation (i.e. Baseball/Headshots)
- Then, Add Field, to select the field that you will be basing your next subfolder off of. For headshots, the Guest Team Name is a good option.
- Note: for some data types, like JSON, you may not see the field you wish to use in the branch visible to you in the drop-down menu. You can drag and drop the field from the Dynamic Data Library folder into the Multiple Fields dialog.
- Select Add Directory to add the slash following the field. This is what indicates that the data field is a subfolder.
- Finally, select the field that your mediaRTD is referencing.
- In the baseball example, consider using the Batter Bitmap Player field as it combines the player number and name as a single field, avoiding any conflicts with duplicate player numbers or last names.
- ##lastname.png or #lastname.png would be the file naming structure if using this field.
What the MediaRTD subfolder structure looks like for this example:
Note: Starting in version 2.25+, you are able to drag and drop a data field from the Dynamic Data Library into the Multiple Fields window. This is especially useful when working with JSON data.
