PBox: How do I setup with NovaLCT-Pluto configuration software?

  • How to setup a PBox with NovaLCT-Pluto configuration software?

Environment

  • Product: PBox 100, NovaStar brand sender box and receiver cards
  • Components:  NovaLCT-Pluto
  • Control System: Gold family or NPP Control using transmit common/open protocol, includes but not limited to DVN-4003, J Series, U Series, Q Series

Steps

Connect to the box.

  1. Bring a laptop to a site and download and run "NovaLCT-Pluto" configuration software in it.
  2. Connect the laptop to PBOX-100 using an Ethernet cable.
  3. Setup the IP of the laptop manually to something close to the default IP of the PBOX-100, the first 3 octets of the laptop IP needs to be similar to that of the PBOX

  • In NovaLCT-Pluto, click 'Settings', enter the laptop IP, leave the port to default (or change to some unique value if you are configuring multiple displays), and click 'OK'.
  • The software should automatically detect the PBOX100 sender box.
  • If it does not, click "Search".
  • Click "Connect Terminal" to connect to the PBOX100. Rename it by right clicking over it if you want

 Configure

  1. Login as advanced user.
  2. Go to 'Screen Config' tab, select "Cascading scan board" and click next.

 In Scan board window, load receiver card config file with extension .rcfg provided by Daktronics followed by send to hardware and save to screen.

  1. ​​​​​​​Under 'Screen Configuration' tab, check 'Sender Mode'. Adjust scan board width and height to pixel resolution of a standard display panel, in case of J10, it is 96x96.
  2.  Select the appropriate signal routing arrow as seen from front view. Click 'Send to Screen' followed by 'Save'. Close out the window. Click 'Save' if any prompt to do so.
