Venus Displays: How do I associate a device with a display in a Cloud setup?

Steps
👉 Click on the arrows to open and close each section.
Acquire the Device ID or GUID from the DMP or VIP.
Option 1: Obtain the registration code
Registration code may be shown on the display itself.
Registration code may be shown when logged into the Daktronics Remote Display Configuration tool for the device and viewing the Identification tile on the main dashboard.
This text will disappear once registered. It also will appear blank if no code has been received.
Option 2: Obtain the device GUID
- Make a connection to the Daktronics Remote Display Configuration tool for the device.
- Click the Identification tile and collect the unique identifier, it will be listed as the Device ID.
Use Venus Displays App to associate the DMP or VIP to the display.

Enter the registration code
- Log into Venus Control Suite. See: Venus Accounts: How do I log in to Venus Control Suite?
- Open Venus Display App from the Apps Menu located in the top right of the VCS landing page. Venus: My navigation has changed after updates
- Click on an existing display to Edit.
- Click on the Devices tab.
- Click on the ➕ to add a new device.
- Enter the Registration code and save.
Legacy Method
Log into VCS app and associate the DMP or VIP to the display
- Log into the VCS account that the display is setup under.
- Click the Displays button from the menu on the left-hand side of the screen.
- Click the display being worked on.
- Click the "Devices" link from the listing on the left.
Option 1 (Add from the list of devices): Click the Add Device button.
👉 Any devices currently registered to the display will show listed under the Add Device button. Clicking on them will open a window that shows additional information about the device including its Device ID listed as the GUID value.
- Enter the Device ID from the DMP into the search box (the first few characters from the ID will normally be enough to find it).
- Private IP address or DHCP name can also be used to search but could potentially yield multiple results.
- If using local hosted Venus Control Suite, should not need to search and any available devices on local network should appear in list. If not in the list, please see How do I setup a display to communicate with a locally hosted Venus Control Suite?
- Check the box next to the device.
- Enter the Device ID from the VIP into the search box.
- Check the box next to the device.
- Click Done.
- Click the Save button in the upper left corner of the screen.
Option 2 (Add device with Code): Click Add Device with Code.
- Enter the registration code.
- Click Done.
- Wait for the DMP and VIP to show "Online" in VCS and then go back to the Device Association page.
- Locate the VIP and click the Inactive button so that it changes to "Active".
- Associated DI-6000s and VIP-5X60s are Inactive by default when they are added to Venus® Control Suite. In a primary/redundant pair, select only one VIP as Active.
- Click the Save button in the upper left corner of the screen.
