Venus Media: How do I add or remove media tags in Venus Control Suite?

Topic

  • How do I add or remove tags in Venus Control Suite?
  • How are tags used in Venus Control Suite?

Benefits of tagging

  • Tags enable content to be searchable by specific words, which are the tags related to the content. Users can categorize content by applying a single tag to similar items, such as "Christmas," allowing them to group all related content under one tag. There is no limit to the number of tags a user can use. For instance, a Coke advertisement featuring Santa could be tagged with both "Christmas" and "Coke." Additional examples include:
    • Holidays
    • Seasonal
    • Breakfast
    • Lunch
    • Dinner
    • Supper
    • Specials
  • Tagging permits the inclusion of all related files under a single tag, rendering folders unnecessary. It ensures precise organization of content and prevents disorganization. Users have the autonomy to choose their tags, which enables personalized organization of their media libraries. New tags should be created and assigned during the upload of relevant content. The Venus Control Suite does not permit the creation of tags before content is uploaded.

      Tagging considerations

      • Tags cannot be edited or changed.
      • Make sure all tags are spelled correctly.
      • Try to avoid using synonyms.  Check to be sure you do not have a tag with an identical meaning before creating an additional tag.
      • Make sure tags are informative and clear.
      • Tags should have less than 25 characters and can contain both letters and numbers.  If you prefer, you can use special characters, as long as you do not use any of the following: < ? : | \ " / * > .
