Paul Gilk is Vice President for Quality, Reliability, and Serviceability at Daktronics, leading teams that work across the organization to ensure the quality of our manufactured products, the reliability of our designs over their lifetime, and the serviceability of our displays both during and after installation.
These efforts focus on reducing costs, achieving flawless first-time fire up, and fostering a positive customer experience across the life of our products.
Paul has led Daktronics quality and reliability efforts since 2014. He championed the company’s journey to advance our Quality Management System, which is aligned with the ISO 9001 quality management systems standard. His responsibilities expanded in 2024 to include a broader focus on manufacturability and serviceability.
Previously, he provided leadership in Daktronics design division, focusing on product development.
Paul started at Daktronics as a college student in Customer Service. Upon graduation, he
worked in design engineering at a video broadcast equipment company and as an engineering manager at a web offset printing press equipment manufacturer, before returning to Daktronics in 2001.
He serves on the Brookings Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors as Vice Chairman. Previously, Paul served on the Electrical Engineering Industrial Advisory Board for South Dakota State University.
In his spare time, he enjoys sports, hunting, fishing and camping, as well as spending time with friends and family.
Paul earned his electrical engineering degree from South Dakota State University, with minors in computer science and math.
