We recommend completing a season readiness check 2-4 weeks before your first event, giving you enough time to fulfill any potential service or parts needs. A good place to get started would be to verify any of your scoreboard and All Sport Console components before the season. Read below for a season readiness checklist for basketball scoreboards and the All Sport console.

SCOREBOARD AND TIMING DISPLAY CHECKS
Was there an issue?

Refer to the resource below.

Visually inspect the front of the scoreboard for any physical damage such as bent digits, excessive dust and dirt buildup, corrosion or water intrusion. If a wireless signal is used between the display and the controller, check for broken or missing antennas.

Order replacement antennas.
Turn on power to the scoreboard and watch for the Power-On-Self-Test (POST), which lasts for about 5 seconds. LEDs will turn on across the scoreboard, and then go blank.

If the signal between display and controller is wireless, capture the radio settings. The scoreboard will indicate current settings at end of POST sequence, showing broadcast (b) number and channel (c) number.

My scoreboard did not go through the POST.
Turn on the power to any Shot Clocks. Watch for and verify the POST. My scoreboard did not go through the POST.
CHECKING YOUR SCORING (ALL SPORT) CONSOLE
Was there an issue?

Refer to the resource below.

At your console location, verify that all signal cables are firmly plugged into rear of the console and at all wall junction boxes. If the signal is wireless, verify that the antenna is secure and vertical. If you need to order new cables, create a new service case in your MySupport Account. Order replacement antennas here.
Power on the console. If the signal to your display is wireless, verify that the radio settings of the console match the settings displayed when you powered up the scoreboard. The Broadcast and Channel settings will display at the end of Power-On-Self-Test (POST) sequence of the console. If the console does not power up after trying different power outlets, create a new service case in your MySupport Account to report the issue.

Learn more on how to determine your All Sport radio settings.

Scoreboard horn is sounding and the digits are flashing garbage.

Conduct an “All On” test to confirm that no LEDs are out. If there are LEDs out, note the location of the LED (down digit, left home score digit, etc.) and create a new service case in your MySupport Account to report the issue.
Exit the “All On” test mode by entering your sport code for basketball. Find the correct sport code for your All Sport console.
Simulate all stages of a game. Verify menu options for functions such as start/stop for clock, score buttons, horn, etc. Refer to your appropriate All Sport manual for standard operation of your system.

If you selected “no” to any of the checklist items on the checklists above, please refer to the resources online. If you have exhausted these available resources, please contact Daktronics support by creating a new service case in your MySupport Account.
