With Thanksgiving just around the corner, we want to share some ideas with you about how to get the most out of your display over the long weekend. First, however, we need to let you know Daktronics holiday hours, so you can call us ahead of time if you have any questions or need help with anything.
Daktronics Thanksgiving Hours
Daktronics will be closed for Thanksgiving on Thursday 11/26/15 and Friday 11/27/15. Please contact us by 5:00 p.m. CST on Wednesday 11/25/15 for any software support you may need. Daktronics will be open, and we’ll be back in the office by 8:00 a.m. CST on Monday 11/30/15.
Now, about those tips I mentioned.
Access holiday content
Did you know that Thanksgiving-themed content is in your Daktronics Media Library in Content Studio? All you have to do is open Content Studio, click the Daktronics Library dropdown found on the left side of the software under Media Library, and choose Holidays. Now click the Search button and voila! You now have over 30 pieces of holiday-themed content to choose from, including two specifically for Thanksgiving!
Is the media kit content not quite what you had in mind? Then be sure to visit our e-commerce website: buy.daktronics.com . You will find all kinds of content for your display, including seasonal content for Thanksgiving and even FREE content for any time of the year. Happy shopping!
Speaking of shopping . . . Black Friday is coming up, too. You know, the day after Thanksgiving when a lot of stores offer special sales and deals for one day only?! All that traffic out and about town gives you a great opportunity to get some extra feet through your door as well!
If you’re going to be open the day after Thanksgiving, take advantage of the situation with some flashy content to grab people’s attention. Let them know if you have any sales or specials going on for the day! Check out our previous blog post on Movement for help creating some real eye-catching content.
If you’re not open the day after Thanksgiving, then enjoy your family and travel safely, my friends.
TRAINER TIP: Do you have your own pictures for Thanksgiving (or any occasion) from the internet or elsewhere? Just remember that we recommend the graphic not be any larger than 3x the pixel dimensions of your display. This means if your display is 48 x 112, get the best quality by making sure the graphics you import are no larger than 144 x 336. You can resize your graphics in many programs such as Photoshop or the free, web-based program Pixlr.
Check out our previous blog post on Resizing & Cropping to get the best image quality possible to show up on your display. Let us know if you need a hand!
As always, thank you for reading our blog, and please let us know if you have questions or any ideas for future blog posts.
