The puck drops this week on the 2018-2019 NHL regular season, which means the Detroit Red Wings will start their second season of play at Little Caesars Arena (LCA). Following shortly after, the Pistons will tip off their new season at LCA. The first year for Little Caesars Arena was an overwhelming success with sporting and entertainment events, topped off with the arena receiving the prestigious Sports Facility of the Year Award at the 2018 Sports Business Awards.
On display for each event at LCA has been Daktronics’ integrated LED system which includes 48 displays located throughout the interior and exterior of the arena. The system is highlighted by the world’s largest seamless centerhung, a 6,000 square foot display configuration that provides a 360-degree experience for fans in all seats at the arena.
The power of the board, the quality of the board is always there. It is always great. That was something that we were pleased to find out because the experience just never fails to deliver.
– Tom Wilson, President & CEO Olympia Entertainment

With all the LED real estate at the arena and the opportunity to provide a new game-day experience, the Red Wings also worked with our Creative Services team to create a content package that included crowd prompts, layout designs, and team and sponsor branded elements for a unique and clean game-day presentation.
Daktronics has a long-standing partnership with both the Red Wings and Pistons. Our display systems were also featured at both Joe Louis Arena and The Palace of Auburn Hills, previous homes to the Red Wings and Pistons, respectively.
We look forward to the second season at Little Caesars Arena!
