The likelihood of Daktronics making it to the MLB postseason is high! Daktronics has installed main video displays in 22 of the 30 MLB ballparks. Take those odds to Vegas! Over the past few years, some of the teams in this 2016 Postseason have partnered once again with Daktronics to provide larger than life, high-definition displays, bringing even more playoff excitement to their fans.
Toronto Blue Jays
In 2012, the Rogers Center installed several displays including a main video board. This season the Blue Jays supplemented that display with Auxiliary displays for advertising, social media and in-game statistics.
Texas Rangers
The Rangers have been working with Daktronics for over 20 years, dating back to the opening of the ballpark in 1994. In 2011, the facility received major upgrades, complete with a high-definition video board in right field. Good things continued to happen for the Texas Rangers including postseason appearances! The integration of new displays allowed the fans to experience the excitement from anywhere in the ballpark. Leading up to this season with the installation of yet another new Daktronics display!
New York Mets
In 2015 & 2016, the New York Mets brought new light to the stadium with an exciting team and new Daktronics displays and equipment. The Mets went HD in centerfield with the installation of a 13HD main video display measuring 54′ x 105′. The latest addition to Citi Field earlier this year was the unique LED “Cocoa-Cola” sign in right field. The Mets also received support from the Daktronics Professional Services team, who helped to create a variety of graphics and animations to amplify big moments, while also assisting with 3rd party integration.
Chicago Cubs
Up until the 2015 season, Wrigley Field was the only MLB ballpark without a video display. Plagued with setbacks and working around the clock through the harsh winter in the Windy City, crews built and lit up 24’ x 95’ LED display in left field just hours before opening day in April 2015, followed by the 29’ x 71’ right field display in the middle of the season. Since then, the cubs have gone two for two in postseason appearances winning their first NLCS pennant since 1945.This digital canvas is designed to look and feel like a scoreboard from the past, complementing the iconic out-of-town manual scoreboard that has graced Wrigley’s outfield since 1937.
Cleveland Indians
Setting a new record, the Cleveland Indians installed the largest video board in the MLB earlier this year season spanning 60′ tall and 221′ wide boasting over 13,000 square feet of active display area. Standing tall over the left field bleacher seats on the same structure as the previous Daktronics video display, fans can enjoy live stats, instant replays, and full screen animations to get them on their feet to help cheer the Tribe.
