Welcome to the final class of the Back to School Preparation semester. This will be the last time we meet to discuss sign preparation for the upcoming school year. For most of you, I’m sure school is already off to a great start, but I bet Daktronics can make it even better! This week, we’ll show you where to find educationally-themed content for your display.
SCHOOL-SPECIFIC DAKTRONICS CONTENT
As I hinted at earlier, Daktronics does provide school-specific content. When you are in Content Studio, go to the Media Library and click on the dropdown under “Search In” to see different places on your computer to browse for content. You can also see several specific categories listed under “Daktronics Library” that break down all the content provided in the media kit. One of these categories is called “Education” and is full of education-themed content that will look great on your display during the school year!
OTHER FALL CONTENT
That isn’t all though! You can also visit http://buy.daktronics.com to find School-Themed content packages filled with content you can use for daily announcements, congratulations graduates, and yes, even back to school! There are tons of other content packages, as well, such as Seasonal, Sports, and even FREE! If you can’t find anything you like, remember you can also work with our Creative Services team to order CUSTOM content!
A LOOK AT THE NUMBERS
For those of you who don’t work in a school, don’t worry, we haven’t forgotten about you! Now is a great time for you to take advantage of all the additional traffic around town. This is a real opportunity for you to promote your brand, sponsors, products, etc., to all the returning students and their parents. Just look at these statistics from the U.S. Census Bureau.
$8.2 billion – The estimated amount of money spent at family clothing stores in August 2014. Sales at bookstores in August 2014 were estimated at $1.6 billion. For back-to-school shopping, choices of retail establishments abound: In 2013, there were 27,340 family clothing stores, 7,047 children and infants clothing stores, 25,100 shoe stores 6,998 office supply and stationery stores, 7,064 bookstores and 8,102 department stores.
78 million – The number of children and adults enrolled in school throughout the country in October 2013 — from nursery school to college. They comprised 25.9 percent of the entire population age 3 and older.
$10,700 – The amount of current spending per pupil for elementary and secondary public school systems in the United States in 2013. This means that the average amount per student a family with students K-12 spent on supplies in 2013 is $823. That includes everything from pencils, to backpacks, to technology.
