Show Control System: Display Studio Status Error red, Invalid Credentials

Potential Symptoms

  • Red status light in display studio indicating invalid credentials for DMP-7000 or DMP-8000

  • When trying to make a new button, no players are showing up in Step 2

Environment

Cause

  • After updating windows passwords on DMPs, Display Studio loses the authentication for the players and credentials have to be manually updated

Resolution

  1. In Display Studio, click the Hub in the top left corner and navigate to Properties>Service Configuration and launch the Service Configuration window

  2. Find the players that are listed as having invalid credentials

  3. Right Click on the player name and select Update Credentials

  4. Type in the New Password and then choose OK

  5. The Service Configuration window will automatically recheck services using the new credentials. If there are no issues, the message will change from Invalid Credentials to Ready and the Status light will turn green after all credentials have been updated
