Steps

Workspaces

Large or multi-tenant facilities may use multiple workspaces to keep pages and buttons separate based on the sport, team, or type of event.
  • For example:
    • MLS Team
    • NFL Team
    • Special Events
  • Larger sites may even choose to have a Technician or Daktronics Engineering workspace in Display Studio so as not to interfere with the user's show buttons.

Pages

(Across the top of the Display Studio Workspace)

The Display Studio workspace is entirely customizable, allowing the user to organize their pages, containers, tabs, and buttons how it works best for their show and their operators. However, there are some general themes to how to organize it. For the most part, users organize their workspace by timing of the event or type of content. Depending on the number of operators and how the duties are split, they may also organize by the displays being controlled (i.e. Fascia, Video, etc.)

Admin or Utilities or Control page
  • To serve as a go-to for complete control of the system.
  • Typically includes a scripting container with buttons pertaining to:
  • Startup or Initialize buttons
  • Zone/sign blanking
  • Dimming
  • Primary and backup switching
  • Processor control
  • Default content or looks to check display functionality

Scripting Containers

Scripting containers are generally used full screen on a page, but they can be used in conjunction with another container, like Quick Display or Audio on the same page.

Scripting containers allow you to control multiple zones/signs at a time, as well video processor and advanced control. Because of this, this is the most common type of container used in Live Events since users are generally controlling multiple different zones and pieces of equipment in a single button.

All container types can also have subtabs, allowing for even more organization options. This can also be used to separate the timing of an event, or a place to have additional content to quickly access like player specific content, or a place to keep archived content or new graphics that are still being worked on.

Quick Display Containers

Quick Display containers control one zone at a time. This makes them great for displays that are not sectioned out or for use with our clip server, Live Clips. The Quick Display container offers features like queue viewing and control and SMART buttons. There are properties that you can set as default in the container settings, set per tab, to make button creation faster.

Audio Containers

Audio containers are the same as Quick Display containers except when you create buttons, it searches for audio file types instead of graphic file types. It is used to control a single zone and has the same property settings. Content can be organized in sub tabs by genre, song theme, or time used during the event.
