Blank ad in rotation, Valocard can't play 32bit .jpg file

Potential Symptoms

  • Blank ad in rotation of multiple ads.
  • .jpg shows on Valocard as the current message but the display is blank at that time.

    Environment

    • Product: DB-2110
    • Component: Valocard
    • Control System: ValoPlay, Venus Control Suite (VCS)

    Cause

    • .jpg is in a 32 bit format and can't be read/displayed by the ValoPlay controller resulting in a blank frame.

    Resolution

    1. Download content from scheduling system. (VCS or Visiconn)
    2. Open .jpgs that are affected in Microsoft Paint.
    3. Save the file with a new name. (Suggest simply adding_24bit on the end of filename)
    4. Verify properties of the new file to ensure it is now a 24bit file.
    5. Reload content to the scheduling system.
    6. Replicate the existing schedule with new .jpgs.
    7. Remove suspected faulty files.
    8. Save the playlist.
    9. Verify the new .jpgs make it to the Valoplay.
    10. Check display's rotation for the blank frame.
