Error when previewing in Content Studio; Corrupt .dll files

Potential Symptoms

  • When attempting to preview in content studio receiving the following error:
    • "Error previewing: A procedure imported by 'CommonPlayerPreviewerManaged6.dll' could not be loaded".

Cause

  • Corrupted .dll files affecting the Venus client.

Resolution

  1. Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Daktronics\Content Studio on the client computer.
  2. Delete CommonPlayerPreviewer6.dll and CommonPlayerPreviewerManaged6.dll.
  3. Navigate to "Programs and Features" in Windows control panel.
  4. Right click on Daktronics Venus Client and select "repair".
    • If Content Studio is not up to date, recommend running the update file instead of a repair.
