6000 Processor: How do I set up Brightness Limits

  • The settings under Brightness Limits determine the minimum and maximum brightness for either All Day (24-hours) or for the Day and Night.

Steps

The Brightness Limiter in the is a way to regulate the brightness of the display between select times.

This is NOT Scheduled dimming. This is an option that will limit all the dimming modes (manual, auto, remote) of the VP during selected time.

  1. Log into the VP-6000 user interface.  See: 
  2. Once logged in, select the Configuration icon on the left side menu, and then select Brightness.
  3. Select desired manager to edit.  
  4. Under Brightness Limits, select the Day and Night option.
  5.  The following options will be dependent on the customer needs.
To set the brightness limits based on the sunrise and sunset, the status file retrieves the sunrise/sunset times in HH:MM:SS. If this time cannot be retrieved, the firmware defaults to a value of 6:00 AM for sunrise and 9:00 PM for sunset.

Setting brightness limits based on sunrise/sunset.

Sunrise

  1. Select Day Minimum Brightness via the slider.  This is the lowest brightness that will be allowed during the daytime hours.
  2. Select Day Maximum Brightness via the slider. This is the maximum brightness that will be allowed during the daytime hours.
  3. Select the sunrise duration. This is the minutes either before or after sunset/sunrise that the dimming values should begin to take effect.: 

Sunset

  1. Select Night Minimum Brightness via the slider. This the lowest brightness that will be allowed during the nighttime hours.
  2. Select Night Maximum Brightness via the slider.  This is the maximum brightness that will be allowed during the nighttime hours.
  3. Night Transition Duration - This is the amount of time that the processor will start the dimming process before getting the minimum brightness level.

Night

  1. Select Night Minimum Brightness via the slider. This the lowest brightness that will be allowed during the nighttime hours.
  2. Select Night Maximum Brightness via the slider.  This is the maximum brightness that will be allowed during the nighttime hours.
  3. Select the time duration for the night transition. This is the amount of time that the processor will start the dimming process before getting the minimum brightness level.
