  • How do you setup FinishLynx and Hy-Tek to show on a DVX display?

Environment

  • Product: Standard DVX (DVX-101; DVX-103; DVX-503)
  • Components: Windows 7 DMP-8000; Hy-Tek 4.0Be and up; FinishLynx with NCP plug-in
  • Control System: Display Studio

Steps

IMPORTANT: This article is only to be used on Windows 7 based DMP-8000s:  For DMP-8000s with Windows XP, please contact Daktronics Technical Support.

  1. If you need to update your DMP-8000 player or Show Control Software, call into the Help Desk for assistance.
  2. Follow Section 3.3 of the Track & Field Interfaces for Scoreboards & Displays Setup Guide - For Systems sold in/after April 2015, DD3059635
  3. Make sure the UDP/IP port in the .dsrc file on the DMP-8000 computer matches the setup guide. For example, Hy-Tek Full and Small Matrix.dsrc should be using port 20000. The .dsrc file name should match the .did file you are using. For more on data sources on DMP-8000, see How to Setup a Data Source on DMP-8000 DD2868686
Change the port in the .dsrc file to match the setup guide if it does not match. If you make changes to these files, you will need to restart the DMP-8000 software for it to take effect.
  4. When using the Hy-Tek Full & Small Matrix.did to make an RTD sequence ensure you use Lucida Console or Courier New or similar Monotype, fixed width font to build the RTD presentation.  For more information see DD2178694
If you used one of the fonts recommended in the above paragraph but the RTD data is still unreadable on the display see DMP-8000 RTD data is unreadable on the display, DD2263863
