Prices are not updating from controller, DM-100 locked up

Potential Symptoms

  • Sign prices will not update with manual change of prices on DM-100.
  • DM-100 handheld screen not reflecting the updated POS changed price.
  • When "update display" button is pressed, the DM-100 is not showing the typical message "Sending Sequence". 
    • May be followed by an Error 3.
  • Unable to change prices on sign even if power is cycled to the display.

Environment

  • Product: FL-3000, FL-4500, FLW-3000
  • Component: FLR3-1500 Radio communication, FLXR
  • Control System: DM-100

Cause

  • Lock up of DM-100 controller port.

Resolution

  • Power cycle the DM-100.
    • Disconnect the DB9 serial cable between radio DM-100 and J-box/Server radio, or if AC adapter is used, unplug it from DM-100 then plug in again to reboot it.
    • Then update price as normal, and press the "Update Display" button.
