Previous FinishLynx race data does not clear on track scoreboard when a new event is opened

Potential Symptoms

  • The previous FinishLynx race data does not clear on the track scoreboard when a new event is opened.
  • When the one event finishes and we get ready for a new event, the old data does not clear out.
  • No data sent from FinishLynx to scoreboard or display.

Environment

  • Product Family: Timing
  • Product: SW-2xxx Scoreboard;
  • Components: Silver Bullet Signal converter, FinishLynx
  • Control System: DMP-8000

Cause

  • FinishLynx does not send data to scoreboards until they are Initialized.

Resolution

Option 1:

  1. Initialize the Scoreboard by going to Scoreboard>Initialize (shortcut key=Alt+I) menu in Lynx. Other FinishLynx shortcuts are found at http://www.finishlynx.com/support/finishlynx-keyboard-shortcuts/
  2. Open the next event and refresh to get the running time to display.  Note: This option will display zero's on the scoreboard before the running time is started.

Option 2:

  1. Put a check mark in the "Send Results if Armed" box in the Scoreboard configuration in the Lynx software.
    1. This check mark will clear the board when a new event is opened.  With this setting the entire board will blank when a new event is open and not even display 0.0, but as soon as the running time starts it will display.
