DMP: How to improve sync'd VDCP Triggered playback from DMP-8000, pre-load button

  • How can I sync playback from multiple DMP-8000's utilizing a VDCP trigger (Venus 7000 command frame)?

Environment

  • Venus 7000
  • DMP-8000 v6.4 or higher
  • Show Control - Display Studio

Steps

  1. Create a pre-load button in Show Control for the same players/signs/content as your VDCP triggered command frame.
  2. Instruct the user to utilize the button as a "ready" where as someone would click that button to do the pre-load and then the switcher will launch the content using VDCP as normal.
  3. Hit cancel on the pre-load after the content has been triggered by the switcher and is currently playing.

This will load the content in to the buffer of the DMP-8000 player and will result in better sync between the players. Without actually using the full Pre-Load/Playback function from Show Control accuracy is affected slightly but results are better than the VDCP trigger alone.
