Cause

  • This is caused by one of the two possible scenarios.
    • Cause 1: Having a newer version of Venus 1500 v4 installed and trying to repair the software from an older version CD.
    • Cause 2: Having a newer version installed, uninstalling it and installing an older version.

Resolution

Step 1: Uninstall Venus 1500 V4.

  1. Click Windows Start Menu -> Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs or Programs and Features.
  2. Locate Venus 1500 V4 install and highlight.
  3. Click Remove/Uninstall.
  4. Follow the install wizard to complete the Uninstall.

Step 2: Remove the .exe.config files.

  1. Go to C:\Program Files\Daktronics.
    • Go to Nucleus Server Folder: Remove/Delete the NucleusServer.exe.config file.
    • Go to Venus 1500 V4 Folder: Remove/Delete the Venus1500.exe.config file.
    • Go to Venus 1500 V4 Folder: Remove/Delete the MediaKit.exe.config file.
    • Go to Nucleus Server Folder: Remove/Delete the ContentStudio.exe.config file.
Step 3: Reinstall Venus 1500 V4. We suggest getting the latest version by following How do I update or download Venus 1500 V4 software?, DD1993540.
