The audio fiber box is not assigning a DHCP IP address to the computer

Potential Symptoms

The computer connected to the fiber box is getting an IP address of 169.254.x.x

Cause

  1. The MikroTik router may not have power
  2. The MikroTik router may have failed
  3. The network cable between the router and the Planet switch may be plugged into port 1 on the MikroTik Router

Resolution

  1. Check the wiring to see if there is power getting to the MikroTik
  2. If it is, verify that the MikroTik is powered on
  3. Move the network cable between the router and the Planet switch to any of the ports 2-5 on the Mikrotik Router
