Wrong number of power supplies reporting under PSRB peripheral
Potential Symptoms
- Verified VFC is configured correctly per contract-specific site configuration document.
- One of the PSRBs (power supply redundancy board) is not reporting in peripherals.
- Incorrect number of power supplies associated with a particular PSRB is reporting 0VDC in peripherals.
- Example: PSRB1 has 5 power supplies (see contract specific drawing) but 6 power supplies are listed under PSRB1; and PS6 is reporting 0V.
- Example: PSRB1 has 5 power supplies (see contract specific drawing) but 6 power supplies are listed under PSRB1; and PS6 is reporting 0V.
Environment
- VF-2360, VM-series, or VX-series displays that utilize PSRB (power supply redundancy boards).
Cause
- Number of power supplies is determined by size of display (during Guided Configuration of Peripherals). This number may not accurately reflect the actual number of power supplies connected to a PSRB. Verify in contract-specific drawings and visually (on-site).
Resolution
- Delete PSRB with wrong number of power supplies associated from Peripheral Configuration.
- Re-add the PSRB manually through Advance Configuration (not Guided setup).
- When prompted enter number of power supplies. Refer to contract-specific drawings. If PSFAN is connected to the PSRB, then answer YES to Output I/O question.
- Address of PSRB (when prompted during configuration) will coincide with PSRB#. Example if PSRB1, then address 1, if PSRB2, then address 2, etc.
- Once configuration is update, monitor in View Peripherals to ensure correct number of PSRBs and power supplies are reporting and that the values reported are correct.
